On September 3, 2017, the magnitude 6.3 (suspected nuclear…) explosion that occurred in North Korea was recorded by Weston Observatory. New England is very far away, so the signal is weak, but it’s there:
Also shown below (From Andy Frassetto) is a nearby station MDJ (Mudanjiang, China), where it is very clearly recorded (red seismogram), and has been clearly identified as a large explosion.
